THIS WEEK IN POAP HISTORY
This time last year, three legendary Amex x US Tennis Open POAPs (one, two, three) dropped in New York at the Bille Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament ended up being quite a memorable one, with 19-year-old American Coco Gauff claiming her first Grand Slam singles title, while Serbian Novak Djokovic won his record-extending 24th men’s singles title at the age of 36.
Over the course of the two weeks of the tournament, thousands of people collected POAPs and the sleek minting setup caught the eyes of many attendees. COOL DROPS
- The POAP Rally in Tokyo continues, with an incredible Collection of POAPs. Many participants have shared their journeys on social, including the LUKSO crew and the team at Checkin. Some have called it the most exciting Web3 event they ever attended. And on Monday, deserving raffle winners got a beautiful physical daruma:
- In Tokyo, there were also POAPs for attending ETHTokyo, DAO TOKYO, a DAO TOKYO afterparty hosted by PizzaDAO, and an evening of fun, food, and fantastic company hosted by Safe x LUKSO.
- Bright Moments galleries in New York and Berlin dropped POAPs during their view.art exhibitions.
- Drops continued at Aleph popup city in Buenos Aires, including from Bitso, and at a presentation on blockchain fundamentals and a Hackathon:
- POAP gave out a POAP to anyone who reported a bug on POAP Home, our new mobile app.
- World of Women dropped another POAP during an online chat with the artists behind their Legends of the Mara rewards.
- Web3 growth platform Safary Club x marketing and product studio Myosin dropped a POAP in New York during a growth mixer.
- The Lisbon Farcaster community dropped a POAP during a coworking day:
- A POAP for students of a blockchain course at the University of CEMA in Buenos Aires.
- IT Rock dropped a POAP during an after-office event, with collectors eligible for a POAP Fun raffle.
- KibokoDAO dropped a POAP during a workshop at the Afrika NFT Summit in Nairobi:
