POAPs for X Spaces: A Handy Guide
We've seen a lot of POAPs be made over the years, but here are some that have stood out for their creative approaches. Check out these stories from Bankless, World of Women, and Degen for how to integrate POAP into your next X Space, or scroll right to "Keys for success" for the main takeaways.

POAPs are precious collectibles: they help make memories, reward people for showing up, and create bonds within communities. When there's something important to announce – a major milestone, a community celebration, or even just a meme that's worth looking back on – adding a POAP is a great way to bring that memory to life for everyone who shares it. Sometimes, those moments happen on Spaces, where it's not so easy to create an engaging experience. Luckily, every part of the POAP experience is tuned for making memories for a community.

Awesome POAP Experiences that happened on Spaces
Bankless Citizen spaces with raffles added for fun

Bankless gives POAPs to Bankless Citizens for subscribing to the publication. There were 5 Bankless badges that acted as entries.
Bankless held an X Space in partnership with CoinGecko, who sponsored the prizes as a way to be visible in the Bankless community. Bankless members could tune in on X spaces to watch the raffle happen live, see prizes, and hear about the plans both communities had for the near future.
World of Women (WoW) makes POAPs for listening
World of Women (WoW) is an NFT community that started in 2021, with a goal to bring together and support women around the world, particularly those using new technologies to build. POAP is a big part of the events they host across online and offline events, and recently, it became a big part of the program for the Anti-Farming Farming Club.
The Anti-Farming Farming Club is a quest program for the WoW community with a special twist: instead of being for anyone at all, it is targeted specifically to WoW members, to help them get to know each other, the team, and the project.
There are lots of ways that WoW members can find POAPs in real life, but between major events, WoW host X Spaces to give people a place to show up and share time. These Spaces come with special POAPs that members can mint with POAP Secrets, which show up on Patio and on the AFFC website. This gives members a way to find others so they avoid missed connections, and redeem the POAPs for points that may become something more down the line.
To balance the effort required while keeping the experience exclusive, the WoW team makes templates that vary on themes in the artwork, and uses a secret with a limited window to give the POAPs out. The POAPs are linked to benefits, which makes it important to keep them for attentive members of the community.
Degen makes community calls fun with art contests
The Degen team launched on Farcaster about a year ago, and has been hosting monthly Spaces on X for about as long, as a place for degens to get together and learn about what’s happening with the project. Since POAP launched on Base, Degen has started minting POAPs as a way for their community to have something to show for keeping up with the project.
To give the drop more of an ongoing story line and involve the community in the experience, they ran an art contest through POIDH, and gave the creator of the winning artwork 10000 $DEGEN.
POAP #183537 was created by Oscar Civit (@ascii_bit) / X, a great way to mark DEGEN going live on Solana. To make sure everyone listening got a chance to mint, the host made sure to remind the audience to install the POAP Home app, and share a little information about how to mint.
How to think about POAP in X Spaces
You can approach this through the lens of getting as many collectors as you can, but we think this idea misses a big opportunity.
Treating POAPs as a proof of ongoing loyalty makes the experience much more interesting. When these little tokens are a little bit exclusive, you can use them to award prizes, create friendly competition, and even introduce people based on other POAPs they share. These friendships and familiarity are what gives members of a community their sense of belonging, so it’s certainly worth leaning into consistency and exclusivity so that your passionate collectors feel seen.
Keys to success: Here’s how to make your drop on X Spaces fun!
Make art a balance between easy, precious, and fun!
For regular events, arranging artwork can be hard if you don’t have a plan.
- Try templates: A little graphic design plus variations on a few elements will make something unique without much work, or you can add more variation to keep things interesting but still consistent.
- Find an illustrator: Most communities have one or two talented artists as members. Partnering with them for art for a season is a great way to get a consistent aesthetic and support their work!
- Contests: Running a contest can make the drop a real story created with the community. Its a great way to involve community members who may not be able to gather in person. It can be a little bit of a lift, so this technique is best saved for special occasions.
Make collecting over audio easy with POAP Secret
A secret is the best solution here. You can start and stop it on demand from the POAP Drops console. A best practice is to repeat the secret a few times during the show, and to mention one will be available sometime while you are promoting the show.
Prepare your audience by inviting them to install POAP Home, which they will need to mint:
- From Drops console, click 'share as image' to download
- Add to your message ahead of X Space

That’s all folks!
